Electric Bike Information |
||
|
Hi Resident This week I have come across two very young children on 'Revvi' Electric bikes (one was just 9 years old), on Bullough Park and in Huncoat. These bikes are electric-powered balance bikes and are illegal to ride on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes, public footpaths or in council parks.
They can strictly only be used on private land with the landowner's permission or at dedicated off-road dirt tracks. Locally there is MX Track Bacup located on Burnley Road in Bacup or Preston Docks MX which is located on Wallend Road in Preston.
If you have children or know of anyone who has a child and are thinking of getting one of these types of bikes, please make the necessary enquiries on where they can be used and know the Law prior to buying.
Thanks for your continued support.
